Well the Philcos look like black plate with 4 pins, can't find any classification on them. The Super Silvertones I can't find much on either. Wtf is that anyway? And I wouldn't recommend plugging a guitar into it until you thoroughly clean it lol

Looks like a 1930s radio or possibly out of an early TV?
 
I mean, for $50, it's a good buy to just have something cool around the mancave with all your guitars and amps. Will you ever be able to get it to not burn your house down if you turn it on? Probably not, but it'd be a cool conversation piece for $50.

I believe it's an old radio. I think that is the tuning dial gears behind those tubes. Amazing build quality on those old moving parts, they usually still work very smoothly 80 years later or will with a little cleanup.

EDIT: Just saw his post confirming. I had a 30's GE like that I bought with the idea of restoring but it was missing too much crap and some corn fed had cut into the chassis hack job style to fit a different transformer.
