Hey everyone,

I picked up an Einstein yesterday, my first Diezel!! I'm not too sure of the history of the tubes in it, but I want to change them eitherway so I have a fresh start with the amp.

My band plays hard rock/borderline metal, kind of stone sour, alter bridge, alice in chains type of style. I still have a Splawn Nitro and I was using a mesa triple rec for a while. The splawn has KT88s and the other guitarist uses a dual rec with 6L6s.
I'm using a Bogner Uber Kab and I have a splawn 4x12 too with V30s.

I'm thinking of 6L6s for the Einstein, or EL34s, or perhaps 2 of each.....

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions?

Check out KT77. IIRC Peter doesn't really like 6L6's. He seems to favor 77's now. I'm getting a quad for my Einstein pretty soon.

2 kt88 2 el34 was my favorite and I tried a bunch.

I tried several tubes/combinations with mine and my fav was EL34+KT66, if you want to hear how they sound, check out the youtube link on my signature.

Love the song man, yeah great tone, fairly close to what I'm after. Cheers!

A little anachronistic, but the song is good. Great singer. Like the artwork, too.
