Tube's for a 20th XTC EL34

I did something stupid and bought a 20th XTC EL34, it will be here tomorrow. I've read that the JJ's aren't the best for the amp. I'd just like to know what tube's you guys have found to make it sound the best. I've had the JJ E34L's in the past and they were fine but I'll probably retube the amp as soon as I can afford to do it so let me know what you guys have liked best. Thank you.

I've got JJ's in mine. Changed some preamps around, but it sounds great as is. I would say try out either =C=, Ruby (can't remember which suffix) or the Tung Sol 34's should mesh well with it. I know Ventura really digs Gold Lion KT77's, which are in the same family as EL34's. Congtats, btw. The 20th Ecstasy is my favorite Bogner to date and I've owned or played a lot of 'em.

Indeed, the GLKT77s are off the hook. And as for preamps - no magic needed, just straight up, high grade Chinese 12AX7B or C pre's - that's it. The rest is golden!!
