hi there,

i want to change all preamp tubes in my herbert, cause i got some massiv microphical problems.

can someone tell me, the original tubes, which are in a herbert?
v1, v2 and so on?
i don't want to cause any microphnic problems, just because of wrong tubes.
if this doesn't help, i don't know what to do any more.
anyone got an idea what could be wrong?
it starts to feedback even with gain lower that half and volume 1/8....this is far away from beeing brutal.
i just play emg81, and tried several guitars as well, but always the same fault. :(

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP

well there is the one closest to the imput is a 12at7 which is used as a inverter and the rest are 12ax7's. I have never had any problems like thay but from what i have read you might have to change the inverter tube. but i could be wrong lol

There is NO 12AT7 used in the Herbert from factory. Herbert, Einstein and VH4 are all equipped with a pure 12AX7 preamp tube configuration. If you replace all preamp tube with Chinese high grades and a special non-microphonic selection for V1 you'll be fine.

V1 is closest to the input and it is NOT the inverter tube. That would be the last one before the power amp. To solve your problems it is not necessarily needed to change all preamp tubes. V1 - V3 should be enough. No problem though changing all of them.

Sorry my mistake i was going by my PDF manual and it says that it there.
