Hey guys

Got my Tweaker yesterday, decided to do the old iPod break in schtick for a bit this afternoon. It was cool until I realised I was going into the input rather than fx return. Is this potentially harmful?

Haha, sorry. I've heard of people running iPods into their amps to help break in the speaker with full band music that obviously covers a fuller range than guitar, getting the cone moving and thus breaking it in a *little* quicker. Thing is, I did it into the input of the amp by mistake and not the power amp in. I'm just concerned that this may be potentially harmful to the preamp?

No, that won't have damaged your amp. The preamp section is pretty much immune to that kind of abuse.

I didn't think I would have but I thought I would check. I just saw people online saying careful not to overload the preamp and so on but you can only drive the input preamp tube so hard, surely... which I didn't, anyway.

It might sound like crap, but I can't see that it would hurt anything. Of course, it is better to just play the damn thing!

;)

Just I saw some people warning about overloading the input but really, how is it any different to running two drives out front or whatever? Or a comp and a drive? I just want to be sure I haven't damaged anything but it doesn't sound like I have
