Im wanting to run effects in the loop of my Tweaker 15W, however the line level loop is making my Effects sound like crap. I know that Bruce Egnater has that loop thing, and there is a mod that can be done at the factory, but i have emailed Egnater a few times about contact details for gettint a loop tool and sending my amp back to the factory from Scotland will cost a good bit.

However i was thinking about alternitives to the Loop tool, and when i was in a shop today (Ordering a Radial Headbone VT) i asked my friendly assistant if he could thinkl of an alternitive, he suggested the Shur Mini Mix II to get my effects sounding how they should in my Tweaker. Would the Mini Mix II be what im after and solve the problem???

There is a fairly simple modification you can do to accommodate certain troublesome pedals. It does require some soldering skill on a circuit board. If you would like me to send you the information, please email me at begnater@aol.com. I attempted to attach it here also.

Thanks Bruce. Im not gonna do the mod, i dont trust myself, even if i do trust myself with a soldering iron.

Do you have any of those audio tools left as i may be intrested if i can source one thru my dealer, who also is your UK distributer.

Sorry we don't have any more of the "Loop gadgets". We hand built a small batch of those but did not intend to make it a "permanent" product. Do you know someone who could do the mod for you? Should be way cheaper than the box would have been.

How could something this simple to fix or add, that affects so many customers, have been missed in testing this amp? I too haven't been too thrilled with the one sentence responses I've received from Egnator customer service on questions I have asked. The customer service skills seem to be lacking a bit.

Well, first its not really a flaw to be caught. It works fine with the vast majority of pedals. Short of a level control on the effects send there are limits to how wide the range can be. Its really just a handful of pedals that have issue. Second, how many customers as percentage is it actually affecting? You have to remember that people not having issues rarely come only to complain that they are having no issues..

Thanks for your help once again Bruce.

Ive been talking to lots of friends and a couple of amp and guitar techs, and they said they would rather do the audio tool way to keep the re-sale value in the amp, they have said if i have had the amp for arround 5 years they would do it.

One last question, so i can source a suitable loop tool; what type of FX loop has the tewaker got? A Serial or Paralel?

Ive got a couple of different options now for a loop tool.

The loop is series. Sorry I was not more help. I just hate to see you spend a bunch of money on a gadget just make a pedal work (Carbon Copy for instance?)

Yup, Carbon Copy and Keeley DD-3. Only pedal ive tried in the loop that works is my classic Boss CE-2.

I was thinking about to geting a Line 6 M5 so i can get the delays and things i want, but spending the money on that is more than a gadget, or a simmilar ammount, and i prefer singles anyways.

Thanks again.

Every pedal I've tried sounds like crap through the effects loop on my Tweaker 15, so I'm batting 0 for 6. I'd have to disagree that a "vast majority" of pedals work or it's a "handful of pedals" that have an issue in the effects loop. Bruce, why don't you publish the schematics for the Loop Tool? That way people wouldn't have to mod their amps and risk ruining them.
