Hey yall, fianally, finally got to play some egnater amps, store was limited, they had tweaker 15 head and cab, Which I liked, tweaker 15 combo which i really didnt like as much the layout switch layout was diffrent and it had a diffrent sound kinda flat, Next was a rebel 30 combo which i had been expecting more out of it, but i played a rebel 20 head and cab that was used and sounded real nice even with out the reverb, for some reason the rebel 30 combo just sounded kinda flat like the tweaker combo. Any how i need some advice im soon going to be playing in small clubs and need to know which one is going to be more reliable the tweaker 40 or rebel 30? which one has more Gain? They said that the owner had played the egnaters and he only liked these two the 15 tweaker and the rebel 30 but i think they were just blowing smoke up my tailpipe. I like both the tweaker and rebel i like a little reverb but on the forum i hear stories about the rebels reverb tank? Please help me decide, I am also considering the Hg Series. Thanks for any help.

The only thing that stopped me from going with the rebel 30 is that the one channel did not have a gain circuit. Went with the tweaker 40 head / 2x12 cab and really dig it.

I've not heard any more about Rebel reliability problems than Tweaker issues - and very few of either .......and hehehe...... 99% are tubes related anyway.
Suggest you buy the amp that sounds best / suits you best :D

Just wondering if the t40 will get the same sounds as the rebel? i understand that it has reverb on the rebel but if i have a reverb pedal on the 40 will they sound the same? which one has cleaner cleans? more headroom? More Gain? which one sounds like the fender blackface clean minus reverb considering there is none on the 40, and which one will give the marshall distortion? Really really into cleans. Thanks for your time.

I can't speak to the rebel, but the T40 cleans are really diverse and can definitely cover the fender blackface sound and more. If you are going to be playing with a band that is halfway loud (e.g. loud drummer), then you may run into slight breakup on the T40. I traded up to a T88...and I STILL can't get the cleans loud enough...so now I'm going to try some different pre-amp/PI tubes next rehearsal. The tones that the tweakers produce are truly outstanding IMHO.
