I just received my "mint condition" Tweaker from M123 and there is a loud noticeable pop when switching between the "vintage" and "modern" positions. I assume this is not normal, but before returning it, I just wanted to be sure this wasn't a "feature" of the amp. Too bad, it is a nice little grab and go head, amazing that that much sound can come out of a tiny package.

Mine makes an audible noise when switching between these modes. I think it is normal. It isnt a big deal because
it isn't a footswitchable option anyway. If the noise is bothersome try putting the amp in "standby" before switching it....
just thought.

keep tweakin!

That's what I have done up to this point, but if I am "Tweaking" to capture a tone, I want to be able to hear the a/b difference in flipping the switch with the volume up. Mine is not a subtle pop and I'm concerned that I am doing the speakers no good by torturing them in this manner. I already got an RA from M123 and they will be sending out another "mint" used head. I guess I am a little concerned that a bad batch came out of the factory, because now there seems to be a lot of used ones in inventory at M123.

Not exactly what "bad batch" or "used from M123" would be but we haven't had any bad ones here at all. I tested the first 1000 myself and with exception of tubes i had no issues at all. There is a slight pop when switching the vintage/modern switch. Slight is relative i know but at normal "guitar store" volumes it should not be real noticeable. Nate will be gone for the rest of the week also so please just email me direct at john@eganteramps.com if you have any questions. Thanks

I cant see why anybody would return that amp for 399, just played it GC, great sounding verstile amp, I was surprised to see all the feature, 3 voicings-2 channel-efx loop-almost surprised with all that its not footswithable and a record out-and maybe a slide out cup holder and ipod dock for that matter too-well maybe not. Great amp.

John, M123 designates their customer returns as "used" now. "Bad batch" was a reference to the fact that when I talked to the CSR on the phone she said that they had many returns in inventory, so no worries in sending out a replacement. My musing was that I wondered if they all have the same issue, since they all had come back to M123 at around the same time. I have no plans on switching anything while performing live, it is just during the "Tweaking" period at home that has me concerned about my speakers. If the replacement unit shows up with the same symptoms, I will certainly give you a holler.

Not really sure how GC handles M123. They very well could get returns form MF and GC.com based on location. At any rate please just let me know how i can help.

is there any resolution on the pop between Vintage and modern as my spankers new tweaker is doing this sometime, very harsh and others just a gentle pop, and after doing the switch for around 20sec or until you start playing there is a disinictive crackling, should i stop playing it and return it to the local dealer?

other than that the amp is awesome
