Tweaker pre-amp valves

I'm getting some new pre-amp valves for my Tweaker......Any recommendations? I'm a bit confused as to which need to be 'phase tested' and those that don't. Or should i just buy all of them 'phase tested'?
Hotrox suggest 'phase tested' valves for position V1 but i've been told that position 2 & 3 need to be....help!

no need for any "phase testing" on the pre amp tubes. Just get a few different varieties and try them out. V1 makes the most tonal/gain impact. I like chinese and Tung Sol reissue's myself for new production tubes. Some folks say that a "balanced" pre should be used for the PI slot, which is the last before the power section. I used to subscribe to that as well, but no more. I've never really found/heard any difference. Just plug and play and have a good time.
