Twin Jet preamp tube question

Hey guys, if one of my preamp tubes is fried, can I replace just one with a different brand without issues? I was told by a few guys that I could, but I just want to be sure.

If I'm not mistaken, the stock tubes are in there and they are ECC86s's, but I am going to replace the fried one with a 12ax7. Feasible without problems?
 
I learned quickly that I was making this situation more complicated than I needed to.
