Twin Jet Re-tube and Clean mod

Just got the Uberschall back today from being re-tubed and holy hell does it sound more monstrous than ever. Davidson Electronics in Long Island did the retube and they put in Gold Lion KT88's and JJ 12AX7's. While it was there I also got the clean mod done to the first channel. All in all the overall tone of the amp is way more crisp and aggressive with the Gold Lions, and I was surprised at how much of a difference the clean mod made on the first channel. If there are any NY guitarists reading this who need any type of work done on their amps, definitely check out Davidson Electronics, I really can say enough about how great the level of service was there! And now back to pissing off the neighbors.

Man I can relate to wanting the clean channel mod. I like the channel, but would like the cleans. Are you getting pristine cleans now if you want them? Did you guys get you album finished?
 
After the mod the clean channel definitely has ALOT more headroom. I feel like I can now play the strings with normal picking intensity without having breakup, whereas before the mod I was always picking real lightly to try to maintain a clean sound when playing live. The 1st channel is by no means a pristine clean like on a Fender or the Shiva but its definitely an improvement when compared to not having the mod. I'd definitely recommend getting the mod done since it really provides a bit more flexibility to the amp. As far as our album, we've made headway on a bunch of songs but still have 3 to finish. We arent going to release any new stuff until the full album is finished (May or June hopefully) but we did release a teaser a couple of months ago if you want to check it out...and yes this clip is all Uberschall!
