Seems everyone has way different settings, the Twin Jet is one of the weirdest amps to dial in

So how does everyone have it setup, and what cab / speakers are you using? I'll post mine later today :)

Just got mine last night. You're right, it's much different from other amps in terms of setup, so I'm hoping to get some good info here!

I'm using a Bogner 4x12 straight with G12M greenbacks - not turning it up too high of course - and so far my favorite sounds are coming from these settings:

Gain: 12:00 - 3:00
Bass: 3:00
Middle: 11:00
Treble: 1:30
Presence: 10:30
Depth: full
Master Presence: 1:00

Playing in a band I might turn the mids up to cut more, but I guess it depends on whether or not there's a second guitarist and what they're playing. The greenbacks do push a lot of mids, and though they're low power, sound amazing with my Bogners.

Nice! that sounds really similar to how I have mine right now, how high do you have the master volume and channel volumes? The FX loop is weird on this amp in trying to balance the send/return levels, maybe im doing something wrong, it seems I have to leave the ch. volume at 9:00 to avoid having the FX unit clip. Also thats for ch. 2 right?

I think at the moment I have CH. 2 setup this way,

Depth: 3:00
M. Presence: 1:00
Bass: Noon-1:00
Mid: Noon
Treb: 2:00
Gain: 2:00

My master atm is at Noon and the ch. volume is at 9:00. I'm running it in a Diezel R loaded cab with X pattern of G12K-100 and WGS Veteran 30's. When I turn it up more the settings start changing a lot.

Haha, yes; channel 2. Actually, I hate the first channel right now. Either I'm completely missing something in setting it up or I've got a bad preamp tube, and I wouldn't be surprised if it were a tube; I don't like the Chinese preamp tubes anyway...

I've had the master volume around 1:00. Not sure if it's just in my head, but it seems like master vol. high with channel vol. low sounds tighter and fuller than master vol. low and channel vol. high. Anyone else?

My settings are fairly similar to sniders. I can't remember them exactly but they are in that ballpark. I like to use a BB preamp boost with it sometimes to saturate it even further. I use the new frontloaded Bogner Uberkab and a Mesa Traditional.

I haven't quite got channel 1 dialed in to my liking yet but I've only spent a few minutes on it. Channel 2 is just too much fun.

Hey guys,
I have noticed that the TJ is a pain to dial in when you first get it. It's almost like the controlls work backwards from a normal amp. I have also noticed that cabs and speakers make a huge difference in the tone. More than normal. I run mine with an older uber cab. I tried some settings that people have sent me that they love. With my rig they sounded like shit. You really have to mess with this head to find the sweet spot for your rig. Channel 1 is great for that modded Marshall type tone. You do have to dime the gain on it. Also the master depth and presence make a big difference. I set a channel and then taylor it with the master pres and depth.

Today after I installed a quad of Gold Lion Reissue KT88s-
.

How did the Gold Lion KT88s change the amp compared to the stock sovteks? Are they worth the $?

Turn your Master presence down to 10:00-11:00 that will help thicken/warm up #1 and turn the CH2 presence and treble up a little to compensate.
Thanks a bunch for that tip! I had some success with it last night and found settings that I'm really liking!

Here are the settings I used; I was finding, though, that with guitars other than my Les Paul, I had to turn the treble down a little to fatten up the tone. And yes, that's a naked Recto in the background. Installed a bias pot in it to see if it could even touch the Uber, or on the other hand, get far enough away that it would be worth keeping the Mesa. Surprise, surprise; I had no success. The Uber, however, got into Recto territory with a boost in bass and reduction in gain.

Are you guys able to balance the loop levels? I.e. I get a big volume drop when I engage the loop. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, if I increase the send level, it clips my FX unit, I guess my levels on the FX unit are set wrong? Its weird because through my Peters I don't get that problem.
