Uber loops- Blue vs. Green

so I was jamming on my tech's Rev Blue. Sounds more polite than my old one. Still sounds awesome...eq is smoother too. So my rub is how is the loop set up? Is the channel volume tied into the send level? I could not get the DD3 to not be splatty without killing the volume when the loop was on. Does it not like pedals in the loop?

And I really want to play mine even more...I still like mine more. These amps are so damn versatile.
