Hey Guys. Fairly New to the forum But I recently put together a little video comparison of a couple of new amps I had at the studio. I thought some of you might find it useful. I ran an early serial # original rev uberschall and a twin jet with el34's. Hope you enjoy, quite a big difference between the two.

Watched your video last night.
Very cool and great for those trying to hear the difference between the two amps!
I've just bought an original #122, but will only get it in a month or two. Can't wait to pick up this beast and start using and abusing it here at the studio!!

awesome brother. You'll deff like the original. the gain taper is a bit quick on it but the overall '3D' sound the original rev's have is just nuts. the twin jet was much more mid present/flat (though it would be a bit diff with standard kt88/6505). you can even see a pretty big diff in waveforms. the original has alot more movement while the TJ is quite 'compressed' looking.

I just picked up a kruze kontrol modded diezel lil fokker I'll be making a studio video for this week as well as some pre amp shoot outs etc.

Thanks man!!
I do own a few amps, but not an Uber.
It's going to be my first one, and as a studio owner, I hope the last one too!!! Lol.
I keep telling my self that a single good amp of a kind is enough, still I get three Dual rectifiers... three different revs!
An Original and a TJ would be nice and a versatile package!
Thanks again for the video, and keep them coming!!
It's always good to hear the real tone the amp is capable of!!!
Cheers!!!

Yep, needs KT88s. I have the bias switch mod on my Twin Jet, but I never use it because I don't like EL34s in it. Too compressed and midrangey.

Cool
Video, I'm scouring tryin to decide which über to get. I have a baron k88 that I'll most likely be selling to fund it. Something about that low end of an über that is drawing me in. There is a twin jet and a blue in the classifieds now. Makes things tough

Go with the Twin Jet. The Rev Blue was my least favorite.

I agree, Twin Jet with kt88 is deff more agressive/tight. esp in the bottom end. The el34's are cool for some things but if you are looking for the typical metal/brootal tones ubers are known for, the kt88's in the twin jet are the way to go. The el34's really smooth it out and make it alot more flat/mid rangey like you guys were saying. you could get into bluesy/classic rock territory with the el34s in the TJ even.

Alright I pulled the trigger on the twin jet in the classifieds. That metal grill was sexy and it looks new, also a big fan of kt88's.
I'm hoping it will rip the paint off my walls.
Now I need to sell some gear to pay for it!
How many posts to get in the classifieds area?

Do these play nice at house volumes? It will be a while till I'm playing out again.

They can do house volumes ok, but they really come into their own when you can give them some volume. Using a boost pedal of some sort helps at lower levels.

Cool, I can play pretty loud at my house, my whole attic was converted into a 500 sq ft. Carpeted playroom, so The wife lets me push some air through my 412 most of the time

You should be just fine then. Congrats on the new amp. Nothing sounds quite like an Uberschall.

I know, I've been beating around the bush trying to cop "that sound"
Can't beat the real thing.
Thanks so much, very exciting !

IMHO, the original sounded 10x better. I've been saying it for years, TJ's with '34's in them sound boxy, compressed, and un balanced. That clip (great recording BTW!) shows perfect example of that. My TJ had 34's in it when I bought it, always fought the EQ with that amp until I put KT88's back in it, what a different amp and loved it after that.
