Hey folks,
I have noticed that the Uberschall Original is way tighter then the Uber Rev2.
biasing point can't get lower then 32ma for certain tubes!!! some tubes not even lower then 47ma.
Is it your case also?

To my knowledge, the Original and Rev 2 are identical except for the Rev 2 having a gain potentiometer with a more gradual taper. I suspect the differences in tightness would be affected more by speaker/cabinet/tube/guitar/pickup/tuning/pick choices than the gain taper. The signal paths are electrically identical and the gain range is the same, just with a different curve from min to max. If there is a perceived difference in tightness, it is likely to be from the variables listed above or from the inherent variation from amp to amp in a manufacturing setting. I know there are tonal differences between the Uber revisions, but i would bet any revision can be made to sound "better" (more preferable to the beholder) than another with a personalized set of peripherals (aka guitar, pickups, cabinet, tubes, etc.).

If the tube bias won't go low enough for the current tube set, you will need tubes in a different range. I went through this last time I retubed mine. the tubes i ordered wouldnt go into range, so the tube supplier let me return them. they then sent me a set that was in range. However, if i recall correctly, 32 mA is pretty close to where you want to be anyway.

Hey Russel, Thanks for your response.
I use the same guitar with Emg's active pick ups and the same cab which is the bogner uberkab with all V30s
My two Rev2s they sound pretty similar however, one has jj el34L the other one has jj kt77 that has massive crazy low end. My Rev green Original sound extremely different and it has ARS jj El34s original stack.
1- The gain does not get ON and OFF like people are saying, but One of my Rev2 YES it does get ON and OFF.
2- I have noticed that the Original has different GAIN. meaning more you add gain the deeper and more bass you get...It's unbelievable and the presence knob works like a sweep knob and extremely sensitive I CAN feel it!!!!more then the other Rev2s
3-I have noticed also, the original is way tighter and way more Evil, it's fucking unbelievable that's all what I can say.

The gain on my Rev 2 is the same. The bass really starts filling in as I turn up the gain.

I also notice the bass completely changes with the presence control. With the presence off and gain high, the bass is very deep and rumbling. As I turn up the presence, the ultra-low frequencies seem to taper off and the bass has less rumble and more punch.

Yep, what he said. The middle knob also has an effect on bass as well.

I've noticed on my Rev 2 that the master volume experiences a huge jump in volume when it hits around 2:00. It had a much more gradual taper up to that point than SLOGriff's Rev 2.

I can't get the massive thick bottom end from the Original!! dunno why.
Maybe because the amp have the El34s?
It sounds tight as shit very evil and mean.
Any suggestions?
