Fedex dropped off the amp right before I had to leave for work.
I did get to plug it in for 10 minutes.
Channel 2 roars like it should.
But channel 1 is lacking volume.
Master at noon.
Channel volume at 3 o'clock.
Should be crazy loud but it's no louder than channel 2's volume at 9o'clock.
Figured (hoping) it's tube related.
So, what position is for the clean channel?
I am not home now so I hoped I'd get some feedback to what tube to start swapping.

Hey John whats up? I had one of these blue revisions about 4 years ago and the clean was no where near as loud as the gain channel. Very strange but not that loud at all. Many guys report the same thing and then there are always a few who say the problem does not exist :lol: :LOL:
Was a long time ago but will be interested what other have to say?

I'm not sure of the tube layout but I think they used to have the manual on the Bogner website and it may show it.

Did it sound like ass as well as not be very loud? I guess I was expecting some sort of decent cleans and some gain.
I sent a picture of the head and where I have the volumes set(Master at noon/channel at 3 oclock) to the guy I got it from
and he said at that volume it should be ripping my head off.

I did swap all the preamp tubes without any luck.

I did find this posting from back in September;

V1 = Input stage for both channels
V2 = 2nd and 3rd gain stage for channel 2
V3 = 4th and 5th gain stage for channel 2
V4 = 2nd gain stage for channel 1, single triode only
V5 = FX loop
V6 = Phase inverter **always replace when changing power tubes

Yep, V4 is the only tube dedicated to the clean channel so I would start there. While there is a significant volume difference you should be able to get the channels to balance if you don't run the channel 2 volume past 10 or 11 o clock. You may have to max the channel 1 volume and gain to get the channels to match though. I have my clean channel on my Uber with all the controls maxed except having the bass set between 11-1 o clock depending on the guitar/pickups.

That is just a trait of the uber clean channel, they are all the same big volume difference between channels.

Thanks Guys. I guess I was expecting the same volume match as my Twin Jet.
Did swap some of the preamp tubes,but she roars as it should.

Got mine set up the same way. Not a bad tone. Can get glassy or thick,depending on the pickups as you stated :thumbsup:
