Will a VH4s going into a 4x12 cab set up 4 ohms split have the same result as a vh4 mono head going into the same cab?

Example: Channel A 50 watts to 2 speakers and channel B 50 watts to the other 2 speakers.
Will this be the same result of 100 watts going in mono to a 4x12?

Or will it be like running 2 50 watt heads into 2 2x12 cabs with a ABY box?

If I understand your question, it will be like 2 amps running in parallel - not series or cumulative in volume/power. What makes it stereo is that it is two discrete power ends from a common preamp. The beauty of this amp though is tossing a stereo multi-FX unit in the loop.

I'd suggest running it with two cabs if you can. Then throw some verb or delay in one of the loops, and it will be the most massive sounding guitar you've ever heard. I liked to have one side with the depth and pres very low and the other with them fairly high. Then balance the masters to taste. One side will be leaner, faster and more vicious sounding, while the other is fatter and more laid back. They layer into a very complex wall of sound. If you play with another guitarist, I feel sorry for him. It'll be hard for him not to be buried.

100% truth.

I've had several VH4 and VH4S amps. I LOVED the stereo out of the VH4S (bearing in mind it's not a true "stereo circuit", it's more 2 x 50W poweramp sections sharing the same preamp EQ). But the love for the "S"s stereo buzz didn't supersede my love for how the VH4 standard responds at higher volume playing. I totally dig the mono 100W head. Totally absolutely 100% dig it.

Anyway, I'm still thinking the VH4S will be back in my life merely for it's 50W per side power rating :D That said, I'd opt for either 2 cabs, or definitely a stereo/mono wired cab with the proper connections in the rear. Furthermore, there is word out there that you can run the VH4S with only 1 side cranked up and givin'er, while the other side is 0 on the MV and on all other adjustments. This is "semi ok" as there's no draw from the OT to get this going, but one slip of the volume knob and it's bye-bye OT, hello amp tech. So buy it KNOWING 2 sides is what you want.
