Update/Current Status of Einstein Channel 1 Switching Mod?

Hello, just purchased an Einstein 50, not even here yet, but I'm hoping to make it my main gigging amp, and I'm sure I'll want the Channel 1 mode switching mod done. I did a search, but still not clear on a bunch of stuff, any help/comments would be appreciated.

1) I read that many people have volume differential issues when switching between the options on Channel 1. Is this still a problem, if you get the standard mod done (with non-midi) footswitch, is this still and issue, and will a MIDI switcher solve the volume issue?

2) Where does one get a pedal for this (I see Olaf, but is still making/selling them?) or if you go a MIDI pedal route, what are some pedals that work well with this mod?

3) Using the Olaf's instructions on this site, can any good tech do this, and what would a reasonable cost be (not to do a pedal, just to mod the amp)? Is it a 5 minute job, or a 90 minute kind of thing.

Many thanks in advance from all you good Diezelers...........

You will have no volume issues if You use it
as it was released .... a simple 2 channel amp.

The "issues" appear when it´s "modded"

;)

Using it original here, I wouldn't say volume differs - dynamics and loudness perception - definitely when switching between the different modes of Channel1.

....ah and:

^ All agreed, except that you underrate Einie as a "simple" 2 channel amp. :)

That's best freakin' complex metal tone sound pressure transduction device invented ... :)

The best "Mod" IMHO is to set CH1 to Mode3 and use the volume pot on your guitar to "switch" modes......... :D

1) What Peter said . . .
2) Nobels MS-4, Axess Electronics units - you could also use a G-Major to switch the modes over midi (or a Rocktron Multivalve, Replifex). I don't find the time at the moment to build them, sorry.
3) Of course, its not rocket science. Costs for parts should be around 50-60 Euros. No idea what a tech charges for this kind of job though . . .
