Updated fx loop on the PT100?

I was talking to someone who recently had their Classic+ converted to a PT100 and he mentioned that when he spoke with somebody over at the CAA shop the person said something to the effect of "we upgraded your fx loop for you as well..." He wasn't sure what was done as he didn't ask for specifics.

I owned a Classic+ (as well as an SE+ and Standard) and the thought the fx loop was top notch already. I'm in the process of acquiring a PT100 so I'm just curious about this. Any idea what these "upgrades" to the fx loop might have been, or does the PT100 just have a different loop than the other models?

John is switching over to a solid state effects loop on the PT100's.

Yeah, I thought about that. Any idea how I'll be able to tell if I have the SS loop when I receive the amp?

I think he just started doing in in the last few weeks so unless the PT is near new it probably will not have the SS FX loop.

What are the benefits of a solid state loop compared to a tube buffered loop?

They are both great loops
The SS version has a built in mixer and better drive for long cable runs
The Return gain is still all tube
The SS loop is better for Volume pedals in the loop since it is easier to eliminate any loop bleed when everything is shut down
We are only currently doing these as a special request
