Upper mids? Lower mids?

I've heard these two terms used when describing various amps and speakers. But what exactly do they mean?

Are lower mids more on the darker sounding end of the midrange sweep, while upper mids are more on the brighter side?

Thanks,

Pretty much, yea. :)

Yeah, upper mids just just on the treble side of the middle of the EQ curve, lower mids are on the bass side :)
