Used Preamp Tube Success!

There is a local guy on Craigslist selling several "vintage" (as he puts it) preamp tubes. I am buying 5 off the below list including both 5751's, 2 RCA 12ax7 grays, and 1 GE 12ax7 gray. I figure if even one of these is the real deal it would be worth it at $15. What should I look for when I grab these things? Any Eggie tube guru advice would be greatly appreciated.

A cheap, old Jackson tube tester works great for telling how much tube life is left. ask if he has a number rating for each triode in the tube?

Cool thanks! We'll see how it all plays out. I'm slightly concerned that this guy hasn't given me even a name. We're meeting at a gas station which is ok, but if I get even the slightest inkling that it's a scam I'll walk. Used tubes are a gamble and I'm prepared for the worst so here's to hoping.

What'dya know the guy was on the level. So I put a 5751 in v1 of the VX, Deluxe and EG5 mods and like it a LOT! I tried it in the BMAN and did not like the results but wow did it ever clean up EG5.

Also on a whim I moved the GMajor2 in between the M4 and power amp and I'm running the Line 6 Mod and Filter Pro's in front of the RM4. Absolute madness running tri-chorus on both units through separate pre's and cabs!
