...on my Rebel 30 1x12 combo. And it worked great!

I had a gig on Saturday with a trio designed to play smaller venues. The drummer plays a set of Roland V-drums, bass and guitar go direct. The bass player and drummer use IEMs, but we have one floor monitor for me and any people that come onstage ('bandeoke' is part of our act).

The gig was at a bar/restaurant and we were set up in the middle of the room. I ran a low impedance cord from the XLR out to the mixing board. Tested it out through the monitors and mains...sounded awesome. Didn't need to tweak the EQ at all. Did not sound digital or weak...sounded very much like a tube amp with a good mic in front of it.

The manager of the venue usually books acoustic acts and was leery of hiring a band with a drummer. He told us afterwards that even though there were fewer people in the place that night, sales per person were up 20%. So people were staying and spending money. They want us back. It was a fun gig, but I got the biggest kick out of discovering just how good the silent output is.

Awesome! I loved the recording out/silent record function on my Rebel 30 (when I had it)! I love how it'll allow you to crank the amp and then control the volume with whatever mixer/power amp your plugged into!

I need another Rebel 30.............

I love having the XLR output on my Rebel and Renegade. I never used the "silent" feature, but I have never had to mic these amps.
I love using it and not having a mic in the way, and the sound men love the way they sound.

They're always skeptical it'll sound good, but I get them to try it out, and they never tried to mic my amp.
