Hey,

I bought a Framus Cobra and wanted to know if I can use my arshall MG100dfx combo as a speaker cab for low-volume practive at home?
From what I know it should be
- adjust the knob to 4 ohms
- connect the cobra with the speaker jack of the combo
-> should work.

I dont get any tone from it this way. When I use my 4x12 cabinet with 8 ohms it works just perfectly.
Also checked the cables... any advice?

Can you post a picture of the back panel?

The speaker jack on the back of the combo I would think would be to connect the marshall to another cabinet, not the other way around. Either way I would hold off on experimenting since something isnt right and you dont want to damage the framus

Hey, sure, here is a picture.

The unplugged cable is normally used to drive the internal speaker.
So it should be possible to use this plug (and switch off the marshall) for the framus or am I wrong?

EDIT: Ok, now I have seen my problem - sometimes it is obvious but you are blind... :bash:

I would think that loudspeaker jack on the back on the amp is infact the standard speaker jack on the back of a head. Most combos have the speakers connected to the amp in this way. The easiest ones to find like this are fender tube combos. Look at just about any twin reverb or similar amp.

I would think the male 1/4" jack shown in the pic is coming right off the speaker(s), and that could be plugged into the framus. I would open the back just to confirm that and make sure nothing weird is going on. I wouldnt think so but better safe than sorry.
