I have a question for all you speaker gurus out there.

I have an old Rivera semi open back cabinet with a Celestion G12T-85 speaker, how do you think a Renegade head would sound through that cabinet?

If it's a good match great! If not please let me know why and what you guys think would be a better combination.

Thanks

I'd probably go for a Scumback M75 or a G12K100/K85. I think it will sound fine, but I think the Renegades would sound the best w/ a K100 or a M75 personally.

From the research I've done, In general, I think the overall concensus is that the K85's (or K100s) are better sounding than the T-85s.

There's a few good threads on the gear page comparing them.

What type of tone are you going for? Classic rock, modern rock, blues?

Classic Rock and Blues tone mostly.

You'd want the Scumback M75 then man. It's the BOMB for that! More vintage sounding. The K85 / K100 would be more modern sounding....a bit more hi-fidelity.

The only drawback to the Scumbacks is that they're a little out of the price range of broke-asses like myself.

Yeah..but man...they are worth it. Really. Most new Celestions are around $100...for $59 more..I think they are totally worth it.

Eric,

How much was that oversized 1x12 cabinet that you have that matches the Egnater? Where do I get one, was it a custom build or stock?
