Using cloth wire

I built a 2203 10 years ago using the TAD kit. It came with cloth wire so I used that. Don’t see that very often.
Is cloth wire okay?

I’m buying it back. He has modded another channel into it. A sovtek channel.

I’m personally not a fan of it myself as if doesn’t provide any actual insulation properties at the voltages we are normally dealing with. It’s all personal preference.

Build looks fairly clean. As far as cloth wire goes, I agree with glpg80. Plus it doesn't provide any real benefits when it comes to building an amp either. Something like PTFE or Tefzel wire doesn't melt from soldering iron and provides better insulation, etc.

Used to the Tefzel in aircraft (MIL-W-22750 & 22759). Good stuff.

I stay away from the cloth covered wire in guitars and amps though. I won't replace it if it's already there unless it in really bad shape, but I won't use it for new work.

I also stay away from the PVC (poly vinyl chloride) insulated wire. That insulation will melt/burn easier.
