Hey everyone, good Morn.
I've been contemplating my next amp purchase to have a secondary one around, ( I've had a Rebel 20H,now
for 7 mos.) and wanting something slightly different, but still in the "micro amp" territory. Have heard rumblings on different blogs/websites that you can swap out the 6v6's in the Tweaker and slip in EL34's.
Is this just people talking and experimenting, or is this possible without doing any amp damage???
Any answers and comments would be appreciated!!
Later all,
DJ

Yes, you can swap out the 6v6's for 5881's, EL34's & 6L6's. Won't increase your power/output though due to the output transformer.

I asked Bruce this specifically...Buckeyedog is 100% right there. I am using JP 6L6's in mine atm.

Thanks guys, for the answers back.... that fact of switching power tubes was the deciding factor for me.
I'm getting one!!!! Have been wanting an amp with EL34 tone, but never needing the volume and power that
the bigger heads that are currently being offered by other amp manufacturers.
Does a Re- Bias need to be done????
I've changed the tubes in my Rebel 20 and Re-biased , so.... It wouldn't be a first time trial for me.
Also, I am stoked to hear what an Eggie amp sounds like through the Celstion 12h 30cab. I'm using a 212
with Vintage 30's right now, and although good, I've read that there are better options out there that just make you say " Holy S***!!!!!!!
Thanks again, and a good day to everyone....Eggie for life!!

The tweaker is cathode biased, so no rebias is needed.
