Im not sure what value pot is in your amp, but my Cameron had a push/pull on the gain pot which im guessing maybe the same style pot as your one. I think it looked like a CTS push/pull like this:

Yeah thats the only thing i guess.. finding out the value. Can you check it with a multimeter?
