V1-V2 on the modules

When you look at the front of the modules, I think, V1 is on the left, right? Is this for all Egnater modules or are there any differences?

An additional question, if someone have the patience to answer:

What are the differences between V1 and V1 in the modules? I know, V1 is the first stage usually, but does both tubes effect channel 1 and channel 2 the same way? I tried some tube changing in my modules and realized, that after a change channel B sounded significant different than before, while channel A held its sound-character (was a EG5). How do the tubes interact?

Cheers

When looking at the front of the module, V1 is left, V2 is right.

V1 has the most impact on the gain structure and overall tonality of the module. V2 is more subtle in its effects. Changing tube types and brands in V1 can change a module a good bit. NOS 5751 tubes in V1 will lower the overall gain and make the module more dynamic. Putting a chinese 12ax7a in V1 adds a little gain and a little hair to the tone.
Most of us have done a ton of tube experimenting in the modules. It's another way to personalize the modules to your liking.

Thanks for your reply, muudrock!
I'm just doing that experience with tubechanging now.

Is it possible, that a tubechange effects one channel of the module more than the other channel? Or does it effect both the same way?

It may be a percieved change. Since the tube may be driven harder on channel B than A, that might bring out MORE negative, or positive, qualities of the tube.

You're welcome.
And like Nick said, the effect can vary channel to channel, module to module, but I haven't found it to be drastic.
