Amps with "saturation" or "clipping" circuits are popular these days (Jose, Friedman, Cameron, Ceriatone, Bogner, etc.). So I designed a Mod Board that adds two popular features to JCM800 type amps:
1. A three-position Structure switch. Middle position is stock; the bottom position adds a bit of gain; the top position adds the most gain. Similar to other Structure switches.
2. A two-position Cali Clipper switch that adds gain without adding noise. The volume drops when engaged, making it possible to get saturated tones at low-volume settings. Kinda like a Jose mod, kinda like a SAT switch.
Switches mount to rear panel of amp, requiring two quarter-inch holes.
Ten Mod Boards have been built and tested. Many have been "spoken for" (note: I'm not taking cash before these are boxed and ready to ship). The second batch of boards will be build by mid December.
Cost of first-batch Mod Boards: $40 plus shipping. Basic installation instructions will be supplied. These instructions will show how to install the Mod Board in a JCM800 clone with turret (or eyelet) board. Some tips for installing in PCB-amps (Marshall 2204) will be included. The board is ideal for Egnater Seminar Amps, so go build one.
Sorry, no cup holder or flames will be included.
Questions? Comments? Complaints? Fire away.
