Value of an ESP JH2?

Quick question. Since the demise of the old ESP forum, I've been out of the loop as regards the value of the Hetfield sigs. Anyone have a clue what price the ESP JH-2 with COA are worth these days? I've been doing some searches, on here and google etc, but its very hard to get a ball park figure. I see last year someone had one listed on eBay for 6700 dollars, but I don't know if it sold (https://www.terapeak.com/worth/esp-jh-2 ... 215031495/ ). I see some people have paid 5K in the last 3-5 years also.

Anyone here have knowledge about the price, or care to divulge how much they paid etc? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

i had 2 of them and sold one of them for $5000 plus shipping, i still have the other one and turned down some offers more than what i sold the other one for.
theres really hasnt been many for sale in a while so its hard to figure out how much its really worth other than what a person is willing to pay. both of mine was mint and had the coa.

The Het sigs are always a bit surprising to me. I can't quite see why they demand the prices they do, especially since Het didn't really play most of his "sig" guitars after they hit the public. The prices are in flux lately, but I certainly would expect north of $4k USD for the JH-2. You'd think the Trucksters and Snakebytes would be more desirable since he actually played those regularly. I suppose limited production has something to do with it.

Personally, I think there are a lot better "Het style" guitars out there in that price range, but I don't argue with people looking at giving me money. I don't have a JH-2, but I do have the JH-1. Never worth quite as much money, but I'm also not looking at getting rid of it.

Phil didn't know you were affiliated with rare electric guitar

I agree, being limited drives up the value and the fact you have to search to find one and they rarely pop up and the guys who do have them dont sell them often unless they get a big price thats worth it to them. My jh2 sounds great and holds its own against my mx250 but i really wished it wasnt a bolton because i like the feel of the mx better. The jh1,2,3 looked really cool and was guitars that he doesnt play anymore but people still want them. Jh3 is one of my favorites, i also had a jh1 but mine was kinda beatup and not in great condition, i paid 1400 for it but somebody was willing to give me 3k for it so i had to let that one go.

I want to get another kh3 but i want the neckthru version this time, i had the bolt on and it was a nice guitar but i always liked neckthrus better.

Great seeing some of the old names from the ESP Forum :D

Can't believe that pic is still going! That black flamed on black JH-1 is still my all time favourite………… :D

I redid the photo after I built out my basement. This time I actually did (just barely) put the black "ghost flame" on the black one.

TBH, I'm not sure which picture I think is cooler, the altered one, or the layout in the original color.

As for the prices, I see people asking all sorts of ranges for the Metallica sig guitars. I know there are still people out there hoping to get big money for them, but if they're not pristine and with the COA, I don't see people going quite as nuts for them. There's been a damaged JH-3 that pops up on Reverb now and then for over a year at $3500 (or something) and the guy won't budge. To me, it's worth $2k tops, but maybe he'll find the right buyer.

I'll take a MX over a JH-2 every day of the week. But realistically, I'd take 4 different colored SS Eclipses over an MX or a JH-2, too.

Luckily I have that picture of you sitting down playing your jh1 from encyclopedia Metallica..... Priceless

Wonder what a green flame on green JH-1 would look like……...

The JH-3 is by far my all time favorite of all of Hetfields Sigs. It's also the rarest.

I've kind of wanted a JH-2 but since I already have a diamond plated ESP Explorer the only difference is the inlays so for me personally it's not with the money.

At one time I owned 3 JH-3's. I just love them that much. They just have something extra killer sounding about them over other ESP's. I've since let 2 of them go, at the right price. The last one is my favorite ESP ever. I doubt I ever sell it. :)

Hi
Maybe you guys that own a JH-2 can shed some light on the features of the JH 2 for me
Is the body mahogany or alder?
Are the controls one volume one tone or one volume for the neck and one volume for the bridge?
Thanks I appreciate it.
