Velocity 300 new single space or old 2 space?

I have seen 2 of these recently at my local shop one is the older 2 space version (which I have heard are better?) and the other is a newer single space still in its box from but still "used" its $250 the other is $300. I want to kow if there is a difference I have read that the old 2 space is U.S. made the new ones are not and the older one is more meant for touring? So if you guys know the differences please let me know thanks :thumbsup:
 
I have the older 2 space, and It's a great unit...much beefier construction than the single space. What are your plans for it ? If you're doing a W/D/W rig I don't think it makes much difference which you use, but if you're using it as a stand alone power amp for some kind of preamp, I'd say skip both and get a tube power amp...I used the 2 space Velocity 300 with an ADA MP-1 and it had NO low end...also tried it with a Hafler Triple Giant preamp and same story...even tried an Aphex Big Bottom exciter for more low end, just couldn't get it. Both sounded much better through an old Marshall 9005 50 watt/side stereo tube power amp.
 
Its mostly for home use I don't tour or anything if I do get into a band I figure I'll get a dual rec head or something
