Okay, so this powermap pretty much buried my 2150 last night. OMG.

Maybe, my 2150 just isn't as well tuned as I thought it was. My 2150 sounded thin and dead in a way. :(

The VV crushes, and screams. It stays THICK and compresses just right on the leads. OMG. I can't believe how good it sounds. It's SOOO nice to see the word "Egnater" on my power amp, even if Rocktron built it.

ATM, this is my end-all power amp. I think.

Sounds like the same for me on the Randall RT2/50. Both the VV and RT2/50 are probably similar in that fack that they just sound HUGE! The RT2/50 is the perfect pair for me personally...for my M4. Would love to jam on your VV though too! :)

Yeah, I'm REALLY starting to think, if Bruce designed a couch, it would probably bury the most overrated Italian suede holy grail museum piece on the planet.

   True!!!

I've played for years the Velocity Valve, but I found it too thick sounding.
The VHT 2:50:2 sounds more open and cuts better in the mix.
After testing live and in the studio I switched to the VHT.
My 2:90 sounds more smooth and my 2:100 I am using now in my hardrock band.

The thickness in the Velocity Valve is also in the MOD50 and slightly less in the MOD100.
It's more vintage sounding than the VHT and M/B.
I am a rackplayer and love to pick my own poweramp, that's why I am using a M4 (two in fact).

Confirm, even though I don't have a 2150, just a TWO/NINETY/TWO

Sounds thin - lifeless, like a cheap radio. Will appear in the classfied section very soon

Look at those tiny transformers of the VHT/Fryette - those are 100W Output trannys, compare them to the
Rocktron/Egnater. Theres barely iron in the vht ones  , the VelocityValve has the double amount of iron...
They have almost the same size then the DeYoung Output Trannys in a SLO (plus it has a choke per channel,
never seen that in a Rackpoweramp....) <- makes it also similare to a SLO style poweramp.

I just got a Velocity Valve last week. However, those people in the brown truck destroyed her. If anyone has a line on another one, please let me know. Now back to super gluing my heart back together.

Wow whats the deal on these? I've been playing a 2502 since 98. I think it suffers from those tiny transformers as well.

+1. Don't want to hate on Mr. Fryette, he makes some great gear,
but I switched from a 2/50/2 to the Randall RT50 with my M4 rack,
and the improvement in tone and dynamics was huge.
