Here's a pedalboard that I did for a local Bay Area pro who also specializes in production and management for various Bay Area bands. He's also plays with a number of great bands and artists from Mahavishnu, Satriani, Santana, Poison, and others.
The client wanted something that he could easily travel with that would be under 40lbs. for fly dates. We went through A&S Case company to get the flight case made with Flyweight (TM) Material, and then went with a composite pedalboard to keep the weight as low as possible. The total weight was around 34ish lbs. A&S also helped keep the case as close to the ground as possible so that the board could be used inside the case. It stands just about 2 inches above the ground.
Some of the things that the client wanted on the board was to have an Custom Interface with a patchable Vertex buffer that could be patched anywhere in the chain as well as a buffer on the output of the interface going to the amp to keep the impedance as consistent as possible throughout the entire signal path. The client again wanted to keep the board as small as possible, just using his staple effects, all run in front of a Mesa Boogie Lone Star 2x12. We also modded his MXR Phase 90 for True Bypass, LED, and 9V jack, and got him hooked up with another Wilson Signature Wah which does the vintage Vox Clyde McCoy thing amazingly well.
Overall the board was nice and light, and very compact. Zero noise and great tones throughout. Should be ideal for his fly dates or small local gigs that don't call for his larger Vertex pedalboard or Bradshaw rack.
The order of the effects are:
(from guitar)--> INTERFACE IN--> Wilson Signature Wah--> MXR Script Phase 90-->P FoxRox Octron 2--> INTERFACE/BUFFER--> Fulltone OCD--> Korg Pitchblack Tuner--> MXR Micro Flanger--> TREX Replica Delay--> Voodoo Lab Tremolo--> Hardwire Reverb--> INTERFACE OUT/BUFFER (to amp)
*Stand Outs: The Octron 2 rocks! It's an amazing pedal, and very versatile as an octave pedal which really can do it all in my mind. I also love the Wilson Signature Wah for vintage Vox flavor, and the TREX Replica also is great and handles distortion very well. Lastly, the Hardwire Reverb is great value for what it is. There are others that I prefer, however for the price, you can't beat it for the versatility.
*Notes: The client liked the Pitchblack after the Disotrion/OD section so that he can mute the signal even if he's engaged the Octron, OCD, and Wah at the same time (which he commonly does). As mentioned before, the client likes the buffer after the Wah, Phaser, and Octron, and then another output buffer going from the pedalboard tot he amp.
