Went to GC and finally tried out the Rebel 30. Dug it very much! played it through their 1x12, which sounds huge by the way. I was thoroughly impressed with the cleans, very dynamic, sounds expensive. The drive channel was nice too, loved it for singing lead type of sound. If I didn't have a HT-20 on backorder, I probally would of picked one up right there. Considered canceling and going with the 30, but I gotta give the HT-20 a shot. Waiting sucks

They had a used tourmaster combo, and while I have tried them before, plugged in again. What a great sound! Killer amp for sure. Too bad the previous owned had imprinted his name right on top of it. Strange that GC would buy his used amp with a dude's name permanently tatoo'd on the top.

just to bad I don't want to lug around weight.

what's an HT-20???....I just traded my Tourmaster head for a Rebel 30 head....what a great amp!!!!!..and 40 lbs lighter!!!!

Blackstar is coming out with a 20 watt version of thier HT-5 amp, HT-20.

I dug both, I would love to have a tourmaster, 4 all usable channels. The weight is an issue though and I also dig the smaller lighter amps. I have heard many say they think the renagade has better cleans, but I don't know, both sound killer to me. Very little difference in quality.

After owning and playing out with a Tourmaster for 1 1/2years, I think the clean and OD channels on the Reb 30 are a little better...The amp design just sounds more refined...I really loved the TM, but the weight factor I couldn't deal with anymore.....Now I use a few OD pedals to get my 5 sounds out of a 2 channel amp...It's fine...It works great...the Rebel seems to make the OD pedals sound better than the TM did...

Hey Rod, why did you go with the rebel over the renegade-did you try both? just curious. I personally had a lot of probs with ny TM, and way to heavy, and channel 3 just wasn't my type of tone.

I was looking to push the power tubes more.....For all the venues I play, the Rebel 30 is plenty loud, plus when you get the volume up there, the power tubes start to fatten the tones up a lot.......I liked the voicing of the rebel OD channel a bit more than the Renegade..At least after I got done putting High gain JJ's in it...The clean channel in the renegade wasn't my cup of tea..Sounded a little to Bassman like....I only use humbucker/set neck guitars...so that's a factor as well...The Rebel's clean channel are real nice..That being said, I did like the Renegade a lot....tube swapping would have solved the tone issues I was hearing I think......The Tourmaster never gave me any problems...I was able to get ch 3 to sound like my old plexi...but it took a while to get it dialed in.....always ran it at 50 watts...the other settings sounded weird, and the 100 watt thing was way to loud and sort of clean sounding...and the 60 lb head just killed me!!!!
