Hi all,

I am new here and hope that you guys can help me.
I bought a Diezel VH4 in 2007 to record some music with some friends. Already at that time somehow the sound of the VH4 did not seem to be the "real" sound. I had some kind of problem in the Mids and the Output, but thought that is just normal, because it was not really obvious.
Since 2008 the VH was not really in use anymore, only sometimes to do some sessions, because I was travelling a lot because of my job.
For this I brought it to a technican to replace the tubes. This guy was very suprised after he removed the cover and told me that the inside, so the cabeling and everything is not done with good quality and looks strange. In the end he just replaced the tubes and I left.
Since then the VH4 was in use only 2 times.
So, sorry for the history... now my actual issue is. I would like to get more back to and into music now after a lot of travelling for work in the last years.
I bought an new mesa cabinet and turned on my diezel VH4 yesterday and have this ground noise which is not normal. I checked the cabinet with another amp and it is not the cabinet. I also replaced the speaker cables and used brand new ones.
I assume that there is something wrong with the tubes in the VH4 after that long time even if they seems to glow properly.

I would like to know now if anybody here faced similar issues in the past and more important if someboday can propose a good support option, maybe going directly to DIEZEL. I would like to check the whole AMP and makes sure that everything is ok and I did not get a "monday" piece.
Because I cannot believe this :-)

Appreciate any feedback.

Cheers
Chris

p.s. ich wusste nicht ob ich deutsch oder englisch schreiben soll :-)

Did you buy your VH4 new or from a previous owner?

I find it weird that the technician said the inside of the VH4 is not good quality because any technician that has seen inside my VH4 said they were surprised at how well everything is soldered and all that.

So, I am wondering if it was possibly modded if you purchased used.

Another thing you can do is email Peter Diezel. His email is PeterDiezel (at) Diezelamplification (dot) com

He is a little busy with preparing for NAMM and his family, but he will definitely find time to reply and he is a great person :)

hey,

thanks for the feedback. I bought it new at thomann. it was also a guy from there that mentioned the weird things about the inside of the VH4.
I just wanna find out now whether there is any serious issue or just normal problems due to longer un-usage
thanks for the mail address, I will get in contact with him...
cheers

Sounds very strange indeed. The inside of the Diezel amps is meticulous, as you'd expect from German engineering.

My guess is that the tubes are shit & the person you took the amp to is a shit-talker.

Send Peter an e-mail. He's really helpful.

Cross your fingers and tell me that a guy from Thomann did the statement.
I will call them and we will check it out. Can you tell me his name ?

Btw, the VH4 board is not as clean as the latest PCB´s on the other Diezel units.
I will do a re design don´t touch the original sound.

Cool. Gonna be at NAMM. Looking forward to meeting you. Also I got my white VH4 on the 16th of this month. Sounds awesome.

It needs some cleaning on the wiring. No re design.

Not even switchable serial loop?

And all the best wishes to the thread initiator's sick VH4. Papa Diezel will take care of your problem.

Not that it may matter at this point, but have you checked your power source for proper grounding?
