Hey,

I finally bought a G major yesterday but i'm having few problems setting it up, this is probably basic stuff but i've never ventured into midi town. This is how I have set it up:

send 2 > mono in on the g major

mono out > serial in

I am using a tech 21 midi moose, should this go into the amp then into the g major or vice versa or should it only plug into one or the other. Also when it was setup like this (through the serial) I could only hear a guitar signal when the send 2 was activated, when it was off nothing was coming through

I hope i've just set something up wrong and there's nothing broken as the g major instructions aren't the best.

Please help!!!
Thanks

Hi Peter, thanks for the reply (and amazing amp!).

In the instructions I have for the amp it says that send 2 is "midi programmable which is handy if you are using a multi effects unit in the loop but don't want it in the signal path all of the time. You can activate/deactivate this loop by pushing the red send 2 button". This is what I want to achieve but can I ask why there was no sound when using send 2?

Thanks again!

Yeah, as legene said if you use send 2 then use the parallel return. If you then want to set it 100% wet and you have G-maj version 1.27 you can go one of the menus and set "Killdry" to on to save you a lot of effort. It seems to then work best for me if you use that with a parallel FX config too. Unfortunately in any parallel loop compression, 100% wet whammy FX, higher values of tremolo, and volume pedals swells etc don't work as it's mixed parallel with the other. The chorus and other time based effects like flange and phase don't work *as* well either (but still do).

So I'd put it in the serial loop if you want to use it for everything, but I have mine in the parallel loop for mainly reverb and delay only, and am waiting for my new analogue chorus pedal! :)
