... about my VH4:

I have finally figured out channel 2. For the year I have have owned the amp, channel 2 has been useless "for me". I tried everything, every guitar and pickup too. Even changing from 6L6's to EL34's didn't help that channel for me. It was easily the channel I had no use for. Amazing Channel 1, with 3 & 4 just as amazing for there own uses. I read in this thread from someone at one time to "pin" the mid control and that really didn't do it either. Then later reading to bury the gain which I never do on any channel because it does not need it. Well... channel 2 is unreal with the gain "pinned". I can't stop playing it. What an Amazing amp! Who ever gave that advice - thanks man!

hmm let me ask you something.... are you a metal player exclusively?

when I used to only play metal low gain channels and setting would sound bad to my ears....no matter the amp/settings/tubes/pickups..... as soon as I started playing blues and poprock I found out it was my ears.

To me the VH4's channel 2 is out of this earth......trully the best channel on the amp......I play everything from clean to blues to 80s metal on it.....

Yeah Man!

Check my avatar.

Love Ch2. I also found that using the Deep and Presence at lower settings helps Ch2 speak more organically. Especially low on the Deep.

I don't play just metal but i do use my VH4 for heavier tones. I have other amps for blues etc... I just was never amazed with Channel 2 as I am with the other channels. Now...I am!

i play most of the time channel 2 i turn the mid full and here we go
you can play really heavy death metal stuff with channel 2 it's not easy but possible and sounds great.

Glad you found a use for ch2 :)

I love our VH4, whatever we want to play, it has something to give.
