A few days ago I did some clips of my VH4.

Signal chain:
EBMM Axis (w/ ToneZone at the bridge) -> sommer cable (6m) -> VH4 -> Marshall 1936 w/ Eminence Wizards -> MD 421 -> Line 6 UX 2 -> Cubase
Tuning: Eb, 11-54 Ernie Ball Titanium Coated strings, Tortex 0.88 Picks

Channel 2:

Since I originally made those Clips to compare my amplifiers, I´ll give you the clip of my other amp as well. It´s an earforce one, a Single Channel HiGain Head, also handmade in Germany. It has El34 Tubes and 50 watts.

Earforce One:

Neither the playing nor the micing is perfect (i´m no audio engineer), but you get the idea ;)
Which one do you guys like most?

Btw: Is there a better way to include SoundCloud links into a post?

The VH4 is awesome. The Earforce amp sounds good too.

Thanks for this!

The earforce sounds really good, always wanted to check one out and this makes me want to do so even more :)

As for the VH4, I recognize it for sure but to be honest I set mine pretty differently (i.e. less mid, more treble, tiny little bit more bass). But I think the way it is set here kind of emphasizes the differences to the earforce, which is kind of cool to hear. Definitely sounds great too!

Have you tried running e.g. channel 3 with lower channel volume and cranking the master to compensate? I personally like what that does!

Anyway, cool clips, always nice to hear some comparison as well!

Edit: which one do I like the most? Hard to say... I'm torn betwen VH4CH3 and the Earforce... as I said, I probably would've dialled them in differently so I can't decide haha - both are nice!

You´re welcome!

I think a VH4 can be recognized quite easily, it´s a rather unique (and awesome) amp!
Those are pretty much my rehearsel settings (except Ch4 is usually set up as a lead/solo channel) and work really well for me.

earforce and VH4 are really different amps, the earforce is way more open and uncompressed, and sounds somehow "wider" imho.

I tried to set the master higher, but I just liked it more with higher Channelvolumes.

Cool, interesting to hear! It's nice to see that the VH4 despite having its signature tone is so flexible isn't it?
Cheers

That´s part of the VH4-magic, I guess :D

It can basically do everything, but those special mid-frequencies and the attack always stay recognizable.
