hey! i`m new at this forum. so.. hello everyone :)

i`m from the band escapado and you can listen to our music at https://www.myspace.com/escapado

at the moment i play (and recorded all the songs) with a duesenberg starplayer special guitar and a laney vh100r. sounds good, but for various reasons (sound?, midi-options, service etc.) i`m thinking about buying a diezel in the near future. but first of course i`m going to test them. now to my question.. because i don`t know a dealer in the near where i can test both heads (vh4 / herbert) at the same time, which one should i check first and do you think will fit better to our music?! as you can hear, i`m not a metal-player. i like warm clean to crunch sounds (not steril!) and really need a good warm and organic hi-gain sound with a lot of string definition, because i am the only guitar-player in our band, so i often play chords with 5 or 6 strings in it an with little melodies at the same time, and they must be heard....

so, any ideas?!

really thanks..

s.

Well, since you listed a nice warm crunch first...it sounds like the Einstein might fit the bill. From what I understand its beautiful cleans, awesome crunch, but still has a high gain.....just not the same high gain of Herbie and VH4.

I honestly can't help you choose, but I've heard your myspace link (your music is awesome BTW) & I think Herbert would rock your world for that.

i would also say einstein ! it would fit perfectly ! lasst euch mal im ruhrgebiet sehn , geile musik

No midi on the Einstein.... got plenty of definition and easily enough gain otherwise.

I would recommend the Herbert. You need that low end and the in-your-face punch of 180 watts.

  so many opinions, but thanks to you all... the einstein is definitely not the right amp for me, because it has only 2 basic sounds to switch, and one of it is tooooo lead for me. i`m not a solo player... i know i could modify it, but then i do not have the warranty any more. and if i choose another amp besides the laney vh100r (which is a really cool and underrated amp), i want an amp that has even more options by running midi etc..

so, i think i should test a herbie first, maybe with a rearloaded cab...

besides... is there an herbert-user who lives in the north of germany, and who will let me test the herbie in his rehersal-room? (because testing in a store always did not work out a lot..) ?! i`m from flensburg...

Vh4 would fit great. All the tones you would need and them some..

...passt perfekt! was sagst du?
