So I got my VH4 on sat afternoon and gigged with it on Sat night and it just kills. For the last couple of years i have been using a Bog 101b and the Diezel is so much thicker yet not muddy. I am happy as a Pig in shit as my tone is now exactly what I have been searching for. Big props to the folks at Diezel !!!

I do have a few questions regarding the midi and Insert loops and am hoping someone here can explain things a bit for me. Does the Vh4 understand CC commands as well as pc commands? I would like to set each channel on its on cc. the reason I ask is that I like to set up the channels on my midi controller as global, so no matter what preset I am on i can change the amp channel.

next: are the insert loops themselves CC assignable ? and when using the loops, can say a phase90 in insert loop 3 be routed to channel 1 ? I dont think it can but Im not totally grasping how the inserts with the send works.

any help would be appreciated!

Good on ya, Bro... Glad you're loving the Mighty V. I'm in to my VH4S like none other... It's my go-to amp. Sure, there are a lot of other amps I toy with, and hell, even own, but getting on my VH4S is just ALWAYS the best.

Crank 'er up and let 'er breathe. She's just blissful

Speaking of cranking , what volume do you think the vh4 really finds a sweet spot?

The VH4 has different sweet spots. Some subtle changes in tone can be achieved from the Channel volumes and master settings.
With higher master settings you get a bit more roundness and power amp involvement. At higher channel volumes you get a bit more
bight with the power amp setting below 11:00. Around 11:00-12:00 on the MV has always been the sweet spot to my ears on the VH4's Power amp
with the channel volumes about 12-1:00.

Man I couldn't agree more! I sold my Herbert in Dec, and decided to buy a VH4, for the past three weeks, i've been in the woodshed like crazy, something about this amp that
just ignites a passion in me to play, it really is a special amp

Why do i have the feeling that one needs earplugs for that kind of volume  , i mean on my 100w Einstein i have the volume at 10 o clock and the master at 8-9 o clock and by ears buzz for a couple of hours after that. THESE THINGS GET INSANELY LOUD. Love it! :D

Um...pardon...?? :aww:

Can't quite make out what yer sayin' there fella....

Huh...?? :dunno:

V.

PS - my hearing typically returns by the morning :D But honestly, my V is a 'different' amp with MV at noon to 1 o'clock, and channel 2 and 3 at 8 or 9 o'clock. I do NOT recommend this in a room with any wall hangings, windows, or animals. It's f*ckin' loud. But the amp and cab start to get all weird and alive sounding... Kinda spooky in a real real cool way
