VH4 Loop Question

Hey guys,

I'm sure what I'm running into here is a user error/ignorance issue, I'm looking for some input. I have been trying to run delay through the serial loop on my VH4. The Line 6 DL4 KILLED the tone, so I tried a TC Electronic Nova Delay, not as bad but still a significant drop in punch and volume as soon as the loop gets plugged in. I unplug the send cable and boom, my tone, volume, and punch are back. It is specific to the delay pedal, cause when I just run a reverb through the loop, there's no change in tone. It sounds perfect through my Budda Superdrive serial loop. Am I running into a AD/DA conversion issue here? I've calibrated the TC pedal for optimal input gain as well. Am I trying to achieve something that just isn't gonna work? Has anyone else run into this issue?

Thanks guys,
Josh

I've had tc nova delay and nova reverb a year ago without any problem.
the return you're using is serial or parallel?
If serial i'll mix the fx at max at 30%
if parallel you can set the fx to 100% and control through the vh4 front pot mix.
Try and make we know.

p.s. i don't know if 100% parallel on vh4 is true serial,someone more experienced
can tell you this.

The parallel loop is by far the best FX loop circuit on the planet. Plus, you can switch the FX in and out through Send 2 and control the wet/dry mix. The serial loop, you will be passing all your tone all of the time through a $300 box and with all the A/D/A conversion that comes with it. Just my opinion. If you are living on one channel, don't forget the channel inserts. These are the bees knees.
