I am in the middle of a purchase of a vh4s but a friend of mine told me there is no advantage unless the pre amp signal can be split and I am running stereo effects. It makes sense but I still like the idea of a stereo rig through two diif cabs. Please let me know if you have any insight to this matter.

Hi Brinc,
I have been running stereo rigs 20+ years now ... ever since being in the studio with Eventide outboard gear and wanting "THAT" sound live. I never thought my love affair with my Rivera S120 based rig would ever end, but she's been put on the back shelf  now having been overwhelmed by acquisition of a VH4S. IMHO the Rivera is still the greatest "affordable to most" stereo amp ever made , but the Diezel takes over from there. There are, as you've noted, other creative flexibilities available with stereo/2 x mono rigs and nothing takes better advantage of this than the VH4S. Cheers!

Awesome, thanks for your answer. I havnt had much fed back at all. Maybe stereo is not so common? I am looking for 'THAT' sound too:) and also 20 years of stereo. Your a legend man!

I just bought a VH4s last month and at first I thought I had made a big mistake money wisie  . But then I started compairing it to some of my buddies stereo rack rigs and looking at all the money they had in their systems I started to smile :D . I don't run stereo effects at all, I run Wet/ dry with a slight cab seperation and the chorus and delays sound great. And as far as splitting the Preamp signal if I'm not mistaken that happen any way in side the amp. I know that some people say you need two different heads to have a true stereo sound, what difference does it make if you split the signal out side befor the input or after like the VH4s does. I think it's a great idea the only way it could get any better is if you had a three channel amp for a wet/dry/wet rig, I just wouldn't want to have to lift it :hot: .
