VH4 Power Valve Questions

Hi,

I need some new valves for my VH4. Never had to buy them before, let alone rebias! The amp stopped making any sound and 2 of the valve failure leds came on the back, so hopefully it is just the valves. I think they have been in the amp for at least 3 years.

I'm in the UK, it currently has 6L6s. Does anyone know which ones I should buy/where from and anywhere in London that will rebias and install them for me?

EL34s or KT77s or 6L6s.

Bias depends on glass.

Currently Peter recommends JJ KT77s biased at 35mA per tube (70mA per pair).
 
Yes sir! Those are the ones currently being recommended :)

They sound very good! Though, as Peter says, you have to trust your ears. So, if 6l6 sound good to you, then stick with those. You should try the KT77 though.... I love 6l6, but totally like the KT77 more in the VH4 ;)
