Hey,

I know this has been covered a load of times but I'm looking for some advice. I have recently bought a matched quartet of winged C EL34's waiting to go into the amp (see the link below)

http://www.hotroxuk.com/el34svt-winged-c-7533-0.html

...... What's the difference between EL34 SED and SVT by the way????

Anyways, I have looked at the Diezel tube recommendation PDF as I want to change the pre amp valves however I can't find exact matches on the Hotrox website. I have used Hotrox a number of times and their service is great so I would be looking at using them again, they're also one of the best valve suppliers here in the UK.

A couple of options I have seen are....

http://www.hotroxuk.com/jj-electronics- ... 739-0.html

If anyone could help or even direct me to some recommendations on their website this would be greatly appreciated!!!

SED is formerly Svetlana. They somehow forgot to register their trade name and Electro Harmonics trademarked it, so EH sells tubes labeled
Svetlana and the former company goes by SED Svetlana Electron Devices now.

The only tubes I see at Hotrox that would meet Diezel spec and tone would be the GT 12AX7 C.
They are similar to the Ruby 12AX7C. I don't know if they are C5 or C7.

12AX7B's or C's - the Chinese/Shuguangs - they're consistent, cheap, and reliable.

And for what it's worth, speaking directly to Jon at www.thetubestore.com will assist you in getting unparalleled service and a safe shipment to the UK if you feel like trying a different supplier.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply, really appreciated!

Would you recommend the GT12ax7c across all or just v1 & v2?

Thanks for the website link also!
