Hey guys,

I've been searching for an amp that works for me for quite some time..
In the last couple months I've been through a (2)Peavey 6505, (2)Mesa Dual Rectifiers, VHT Sig:X, Laney VH100R, Laney AOR, a couple different poweramp setups...the list goes on.

None has satisfied me yet, the closest one is the VHT, I loved the tightness and clarity that it had, it was just way too dry and flat sounding.
I like dry, but it was too dry.

I'm looking for an amp that is super tight, very fast attack, yet still saturates well, and remains clear.

The kind of sound I'm looking for is something like these guys : https://www.myspace.com/architectsuk

Something big and hard sounding.

Would the VH4 be a good match for my tastes?

Thanks!

I have a VH4S I love but it sounds like you may be more of a Herbert Candidate.

I love my VH4 for just the reasons that you're thinking about one.

It's super-tight without sounding overly dry like a VHT.
It's definitely the most percussive amp I've played - there's great punch and clarity, even with stupid amounts of gain.

I've actually got an older version, so channel 3 is a lot more loose...the newer versions have a much tighter 3rd channel. In my amp, channel 3 kills for fat lead sounds...it's almost got a Steve Vai thing going on. I'm on the fence about getting it modded to be closer to the newer versions: I'd really like to have a tighter third channel, but then I'd lose the fat, smooth sounds that I can dial in now.
