Hello,

I've ordered a VH4 and I'd like to know if there's a tuner out output on the rear panel of the VH4, as there are on my Herbert and Hagen ?

I'm looking to buy a Rocktron Versatune as I'm not satisfied with my TC Electronic Polytune (I find it not very precise).

Thanks

You can put a cable from the "Thru"-Jack at the front next to the Input. This send a signal that you can use for a tuner without sending it back somewhere. So if you set your Amp on "Mute" you can still tune.... Don´t know, how it works in a loop...and don´t know, if the way I do alter the sound somehow... :D

I used to do it this way as well, but one day I was jamming at a pretty loud volume and I decided to unplug all my stuff and go at it simple (just guitar, amp and cab) and I noticed that there was a bit of difference in sound when I unplugged my tuner from the through jack.

I haven't experimented with it since then though... maybe I should try again with a better quality cable :)

Yeah, just use one of the insert loops if you're not using all of them for other FXs. Works well. I also thought using the "thru" jack sucked a bit of tone.

Just curious...will there be a signal at the insert loop of the selected channel when the "Mute"-function of the VH4 is on?

I don´t have my VH4 nearby, so I can´t test it.

^ Connect the tuner to the insert send and a dummy cable into the return. That mutes it when that insert is selected.

This ^^^^^^^^^^

I finally tried to connect the tuner to one of the insert loops (Ch3 in my case). Is it normal that I have a little bit of sound coming through anyway?

I know some amps have that kind of problem (channel bleeding)...

I am not sure. :aww:

Mine doesn't do it on channel 2.

Do you have the parallel loop active too? Make sure that the only thing active is the channel insert. If you're still hearing something, then I'm stumped.

Also, have you tried just hooking up the tuner anywhere and hitting the VH4's mute button?

Parallel Loop was not active, but I have it bridged w/ a patch cable, since I use it as a soloboost.
If I engage the mute button, no signal is sent to the insert loop. I could connect the tuner to the thru, but that sounds worse.

Also: when i played in CH3, signal was sent to the tuner. I have a cable going from the insert send to the tuner input, and a dummyplug in the return of the insert loop.
