I'm a NOOB to Diezel but many of my favorite guitarists play them. I have decided to start saving for one. I know I want the VH4 or (VH4S) and I tried to do some searching for the question I have, but didn't quite find what I was looking for.

On the Diezel site the only difference I noticed is stereo (send and return) in effects loop. Is there anything else I am missing? Like I said, I am a noob, but what does this actually do? And how does this transfer to a live performance? Examples would be great!

So, My questions are, what IS the main difference between these two amps? Which one is better and why?

VH4 is mono. VH4S is Stereo. Everything else is the same...except for the magic dust that Poppa sprinkles on them...need a little more for the VH4S :D

I mean really, who wold not want a stereo power amp in one chassis ? No slaves, external power amps, extra power tubes
and stereo effects !!! My feeling on the S is that it has a slightly wider spatial projection and is a bit warmer due to the 2 X 50-60W power
sections opposed to the normal 100-120W VH4 power section. Those who have tried the VH4 with two tubes may be able to chime in,
but the amp has a slightly sweeter top end. With that said, the VH4 mono will give you a bit more shred, headroom, machine gun attack
and does not require stereo cabs to be lugged around. If you don't mind lugging cabs then you should get a VH4S for L and R stereo signals and
stick a Herbert in the middle..... The two cab solution would be the VH4 L and Herbert R. ;)

The Diezel power amp is one of the most amazing aspects of the amps. I wish Peter would make at least a VH4 based power amp.
I don't care if it's in a rusty tool box for a chassis.

Thanks for the description !

The guys don´t need my posts

:D

With the VH4S there's the option of running a wet/dry mix to a single stereo cab as I do (separate cabs if you prefer). For me it's nothing too fancy. I run a chorus on one side of my clean channel. It allows a nice effect along with the crisp articulation of the dry channel. I absolutely LOVE the way it mixes.

P.S. Peter, thanks for the option!

I've had the both... I am a damn right dedicated FAN of the "S"... I love my VH4S.

It's worth every bloody penny.

Hands down.

V.
