i just posted a quick mix of a song i just cut entirely on channel 2 of the VH4s. this should give you a pretty good feel of the diversity of just channel 2.

setup - 1980 les paul standard with JB n '59 - vh4s w/6L6 into a rear loaded diezel nyc 4x12 and mesa recto 4x12

Peter, thats a real great song.
Should we take a demo on the website ?

Awesome song, great guitars and great vocals. I love it! Any chance getting the full song in some way?

final mix should be done this week... still tweakin' some stuff...

i'll post it when it's done.

thanks for the interest though!!!

and thanks, peter. this amp rocks!!! can't wait to pop in some el34's... i hope the winged c's are the way to go...

Sounds Good!

Where was the gain set at for that song?

I'm been finding that I like Ch 3 around 11' o'clock for this song section that i'm working on.. Might mess with Ch 2 and see if that works better. So far I like 3 o'clock!!

I think with slightly complex chording on Ch3, the distortion is simply too much

Like drop 2 voicings, add 9, some 7th chords..

Chris

Yep, that the channel 2  Like I said before one of the best channels I've ever heard. Do try the EL34s, I think the crunch of my VH4 is a little better.

I had the gain at around 3 o'clock, maybe a tad more. master was around there as well. I think channel 2 at those settings had much more brightness, dynamics, and clarity than channel 3. For some reason channel 3 did seem a bit much, plus i couldn't seem to pull any brightness out of it, even with the presence at around 2 o'clock and deep only at 9, mids boosted. Funny thing though, when playing live, ch. 3 totally pulls off what ch. 2 sounds like double tracked in the studio... weird, but it sounds almost identical, so i guess that's good for me :-)
