Can anyone please chime in on the difference between these amps ?
Besides the CLX has a clean channel and the CL doesn't are there that much of a difference between the gain channels of the two , or are they about the same as far as voicing , feel , response etc ????

CL is 2 channels that can both clean up reasonably well and can also both rip your face off.
CLX is the same preamp section as the UL but with el34's in the power section instead of KT88's.
The red channel on the CL is most similar to the lead channel on the CLX (both use 34's). However, I think the green channel on the CL has its own thing going on (sort of Mesa Markish with some Hiwatt mixed in with plenty of gain)
I have owned them all (UL's, CL's and CLX) and my favorite of the bunch is the CL50...the green channel on that amp is one of the best high gain channels on the market IMHO.
With that said, I don't think you can make a mistake in the bunch.
