Which of these cabs will I like better with my UL? I want a tight/punchy sound. I've heard the Deliverance is more "open" sounding, but is it still tight like the FB? Which do you all prefer? BTW I play metal mostly and some other stuff as well.

I liked the tone and tightness of the D straight cab but could not dial in the mids with a CL50 like I can with the Fatbottom. The D was tighter, darker, woody tone. I got a Marshall handwired straight cab with G12H30s that day and I liked my CL50 with that much more than the VHT cabs.
Personally, I don't care for the Fatbottom cab tones at all but I think there is a new cab and speakers to go with the Sig X coming out next month......

the Deliverance is still VERY tight. the best way for me to describe the biggest difference, is the FB seems more directional. the D412 seems to disperse sound to the sides better. so if you're not directly in front of the cab, you can still hear yourself more. that becomes more important if you're in a band and move around alot.

Heh I liked it better when they only offered one cab. I'm not good at making decisions like this.

Hi,

Well I own 2 VHT 4x12 FB cab's and I couldnt be with out them... Actually, I sold my Marshall cabs the week
I got my first VHT FatBottom.

It depends what kind of music you play... for what I do 80's and 90's style metal (Pantera, Sabbath, Overkill,
Slayer. King Diamond'ish etc...) its killer. Its very tight, very articulate and focused, the bottom end is incredible!!
tight and responsive. No matter how much low end you give it will keep on taking it!! What really impressed me
about these cabs is that the louder you play them the tighter they get!! I tested my 4x12FB againts a D412 when
I bought it and I found the D412 sounded more "open" compared the the FB... it wasnt as tight but it still sounded
great!

Also, something to look into is a slanted or straight cab... they sound different. When jammin I actually prefer the
sound of a straight 4x12 cab. It sounds deeper than the slanted... when recording you wont notice it but jaming you
will. So if you can test both.

Good luck on your purchase!!

Heres a shot of my 2 cab's

Yeah in the end I'll prolly end up with a FB straight cab. It was what was designed for my amp so I'm guessing it makes more sense. Tight is what I want for sure. Thanks for the info man!

I'm selling my VHT FB, it's a straight, you live anywhere close to Eagan, Minnesota?? I do not want to deal with shipping it... so pretty much only going for local. Not a single mark on it, no lie.

I've been alright. Busy with work and working on the new material for the band.

I'll talk to you sometime on msn. I'll be going away this weekend and I'll have my laptop with me, so if your online the sametime I am then we'll chitchat.

Cheers

Well I am, well, was, planning on getting a new car soon, but now I decided I'm probably going to wait until early next year, like after winter to get it. I was going to sell all of my gear to have some more cash for a down payment. I have decided to keep everything though. This decision was just made today :)
